Zoya Caitlin

Caitlin is a medium dusty blue creme shade from the Intimate Collection.  This went on like BUTTAH- 2 glorious coats for opaqueness.  Dries darker than the bottle color.  I adore Zoya's colors, formula, brush, etc.- but I have tip wear after just a few hours!  Wtf?  At first it may have been shrinkage with Seche Vite topcoat, but then I bought the whole Zoya color-lock system and am still having probs!  I don't get it- maybe it just doesn't go with my body chemistry?  If you have any tips please let me know!  (hahaha- tips for tipwear)  But I wore this all day proudly with my tip wear.

After a day I decided it needed something extra (besides a tip touch-up)...FLAKIES!

This is 2 coats of Finger Paints Flashy over Caitlin

Then I mattified it with Essie Matte about you topcoat

Flakies look really nice over this mid color- a more muted color show than the vibrant colors you get layering them over black.  This was my first time using a matte topcoat.  It went on easily and dried quickly.  I dunno if I'm a fan of the matte look- its just so chalky and I think it made my winter ravaged skin look drier.  Really made the flakies pop on the nail better.  I'll mattify other things and see if it grows on me- I hear glitter looks great matte!

Color Club Fashion Addict

Holy Holo Batman!  This is a really nice holo for an inexpensive polish- it's quite visible even in indoor light.  I didn't love the color on my skintone.  Maybe I've just been so into darker polish lately that a lighter color looks foreign?  I dunno.  Some pinks kind make my hands look dirty too.  But sill a lovely color with a nice strong, scattered holo finish.  I didn't have any sunlight while wearing this, would be even better then, I'm sure.

So much holo goodness!

Orly Lunar Eclipse

If this doesn't make your eyeballs pop out of your head, I don't know what will!  Royal blue jelly with purple/pink duochrome shimmer/glass fleck/micro-glitter.  Gorgeous glowing blue with subtle purple duochrome shift indoors, a blue glitter-bomb in full sunlight.  Wowza!  Pretty difficult to capture the true complexity on camera.  From the Cosmic FX collection Fall 2010.  Also picked up Space Cadet- the most well-known polish from this collection- which I have not tried yet (boooo- I know!)  This one was pretty sheer for me- used 3 coats and can still see some VNL in my pics, not bad IRL.

  Indoors under lamp

Indirect sunlight- bonus dog hair on middle nail

I could stare at the bottle for hours- it's magical!

And a picture of my sweet fur-babies sunbathing

Color Club Wild at Heart

Look at this beauty, a dark purple holo from Color Club- Wild at Heart.  I mean- its purple, holo, a one-coater, and so full of win!  This scattered holo is subtle but still breathtaking.  I found that topcoat dulled the holo effect on this one so I skipped it.  This did have significant tipwear after 24 hours, nothing that couldn't be fixed by wrapping the tips again and adding another coat of color.  Love, love this!  I've used it once and I feel like I need a backup bottle.  Purple-lover must have!

Sephora by OPI 212

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my first post!   Decided to show you this exciting flakie polish I recently acquired!  I was gifted this along with Sephora by OPI Teal We Meet Again (which you will see in future post) a few days ago by my mom- Thanks Mom!  This incredibly unique charcoal-olive base is packed with gold shimmer, mutli-colored and holo glitter, and last but not least- coppery-orange flakies!  I couldn't stop staring at my nails.   Originally a limited edition 2009 shade that is popping up again at Sephora online- my mom found this in a local store in Birmingham, AL.  If you like unique polishes...this is seriously a must-have!

With flash to show the glitter!
